Garden Lighting Design
“Garden lighting design is a harmonious blend of artistry and functionality, where light becomes the bridge between nature and architecture.
As a quintessential dimension of design, light transforms outdoor spaces, allowing for year-round enjoyment and extending the view from within your home.
It is through the principles of drama, subtlety, and ambience that light reveals the beauty of a garden, while thoughtful layering and precision create depth and character.
Exemplary design is bespoke, tailored to enhance the unique qualities of both the landscape and the façade, turning the ordinary into something profoundly meaningful and relevant.”

How we achieve results
-
We always ensure you have enough light to conduct the tasks you need. We discuss your needs and life style. Understanding how you will use your space.
-
All homes need a sense of atmosphere. We create this using lamps, pendants, chandeliers and wall lights. These work in tandem with the specified task light.
-
All spaces are architecturally designed and often have beautiful features that need lighting to emphasise them and give the 'WOW Factor'. This can be anything from arches to coffers & feature windows to pictures.
-
Using the three main principles of lighting design, Task light, Ambient light & Accent light, we use a combination of these to create layers of light. This enables us to create scenes and different looks to suit a room's various uses.
-
Many rooms where a lighting designer has not been hired may look flat and lifeless. We make sure we light what you need to see and do not waste light going onto the floor when light could be put to better use over a picture of over a food preparation area. Using this is enables us to use light and dark to create drama. This is called Chiaroscuro and it creates visual intrigue.
-
When looking out of windows or especially big glass doors leading to gardens, you are greeted with a black mirror. This makes your interior space feel small and keeps your exterior spaces dark. We light your garden simply and effectively to stop this mirror effect and extend your view. bringing your exterior space inside all year round and promoting enjoyment outside when it is warm enough.
-
Our main principles of design are summed by this;
The right light, In the right place, At the right time.
-
We adjust how warm your lighting feels to suit your needs.
A warm cosy light in the living room is often wanted while a slightly less warm, more practical light is often wanted in the kitchen. In a Uk cottage.
Whereas in a more contemporary London flat may desire a cooler light.
We balance this and make sure the colour temperatures match and coherent throughout the house.
-
Needs change over time. We design to enable future changes to you are never tied down.
-
Most people are opting for conventional rotary dimming at the moment. We are excellent at selecting the correct lights pairs with the correct dimmers & drivers. We always make this coherent and easy to use.
Some people opt for a control system. This remains as easy to use and coherent but is very helpful more bigger, more complex designs. These can be used for full smart home integration.
