Light it in Red

The global events industry was devastated by the impact of COVID-19, affecting everything from major festivals, tours, and landmark theatres to grassroots venues and business events. Without immediate and substantial support from national governments, the entire supply chain was at risk of collapse. In response, the "Light It In Red" campaign was launched to highlight this critical issue. Campaigners declared a global Day of Action to raise awareness and rally support for the industry’s survival during those challenging times. Weeks later, a pot of money was allocated by the government to Arts Council England, providing crucial support to help venues stay open, including the Cheltenham Playhouse.
